The typical saddler's needle has a blunt point so that it does not get stuck in the leather when it is pushed through the hole pre-punched with the awl.
The blunt point also prevents the thread from being pierced.
This needle is approx. 1.1 mm thick and 60 mm long with an extra large eye.
