needles, particularly in leatherworking, such as shoemaking.
Steel bristles are flexible, very thin and extremely
durable, which means that they are often better suited than sewing needles for
pulling thread through tight spaces or sewing very thick leather, as they can
adapt to the holes pierced with an awl without
breaking.
